PUBLIC LIABILITY
INSURANCE
The Meeting heard details of
public liability insurances available from a number
of companies and in particular details of cover
available from the British Hores Society when Gold
Membership is taken out (cost £58
sterling).
It
was agreed to gather further information and to put
the matter for further discussion at the next
meeting.
TRAINING
COURSES
.
A
discussion was held on the Sport Horse Course being
held in Leitrim
presently.
The meeting also heard that Liz
Keane provides BHS courses in Fahy. A number of
Members indicated that they may have an interest in
these courses. It was agreed to invite Ms. Keane to
speak at the next meeting.
MEMBERSHIP
Following a discussion it was
proposed by Owen Hughes, seconded by Adrian Cawley
and agreed that a membership fee of €50 per anum be
charged and that applications for 2009 close on
11th December, 2008. It was also
agreed
to name the group the
“West Mayo Equine Group”. It was also noted that
Members would have to abide by rules agreed for
Membership.
WOODCHIP
PURCHASES
A
discussion was held on quotes for the bulk delivery
of woodchip bedding. It was agreed to defer
decision on this matter until the next
meeting.
OTHER
BUSINESS
John Noonan circulated a Teagasc
publication on Horse
Management.
It
was agreed to hold the next meeting on
11
th December,
2008
